Of course, they also signal possible diseases.

So pay attention to these signs that can indicate 9 different disorders.

It is important to understand your body because often we do not even realize that there has been a malfunction in the body.

What diseases will your hands tell you about?

1. Pain in the thumb and index finger

If you experience pain in your thumb and index finger, as well as numbness and tingling, you may be suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome.

With this disorder, a person’s wrist swells and this puts pressure on the nerve, causing several rather unpleasant sensations.

Carpal tunnel syndrome usually develops in people who do a lot of manual work. For example, this is a common problem among office workers and musicians.

2. Wounds that do not heal for a long time

If you have wounds on your hands that do not heal in any way, this may indicate certain diseases. For example, bruises or cuts that take a long time to heal or do not heal completely are sometimes a symptom of diabetes.

If these are also accompanied by excessive thirst or hunger, numbness, and tingling in the hands and feet, see a doctor immediately. This is an obvious sign of disturbed blood sugar levels.

3. Changing the color of the fingers

Fingers can change color for several reasons. If you have been exposed to low temperatures and experienced excessive stress or significant physical exertion, then this is not a problem.

However, if these changes are accompanied by itching, pain, tingling, or numbness in the fingers, be sure to consult a specialist to find out the cause of the unusual sensations.

They can be a symptom of diseases of the spine and issues with blood vessels or skin.

4. Excessive sweating

If you notice that your hands sweat excessively, there is a possibility that you have hyperhidrosis.

Although hands usually sweat due to usual reasons, in case of excessive sweating, which does not depend on external factors, you should consult a doctor. He will direct you to the necessary tests and determine if everything is okay.

5. Weakened nails

If the nails began to break easily, the reason may be constant contact with water, detergents, and other chemical products, as well as improper self-care.

Nevertheless, you should be careful, because sometimes nails also become brittle due to issues with the thyroid gland.

Carefully analyze the state of your health to determine whether fragility is not accompanied by a feeling of weakness, fatigue, and pain in the joints. If you experience these symptoms, consult your doctor.

6. Your hands are always cold

If you belong to people who always have cold hands, this is also a reason to pay more attention to your health. If at the same time you notice changes in the color of the skin, go to the doctor immediately.

Such symptoms are usually associated with problems with blood circulation or diseases of the nervous system.

7. Trembling in the fingers

Trembling in the fingers is a rather unpleasant feeling that can cause a lot of trouble. Sometimes it occurs due to excessive stress or carrying heavy objects. Then you shouldn’t sound the alarm, because it’s just exhaustion and the fingers will stop shaking after a certain time.

However, if your tremors persist and your hands shake for no apparent reason, you may be deficient in vitamins B1, B6, B12, and E.

8. Hands swelling

There are several causes of hand swelling. This symptom does not necessarily indicate serious health disease and does not mean that you need to run to the hospital immediately. Maybe the hands are swollen due to a hot day or excessive salt consumption. Then the swelling will go down quickly.

However, if this symptom occurs too often, consult a doctor, because it may indicate vascular disease.

9. Changing the color of nails

If you notice that your nails have changed color, you may have low hemoglobin or anemia. In both cases, a person’s nails begin to turn blue.

Such disorders, as a rule, are accompanied by the clumsiness of the hands, as well as unpleasant sensations and slight tingling in the fingers.

Now you know that hands can tell a lot about health. This is a great reason to take better care of your body and listen to the signals it sends.

Although sweets have been popular throughout human history, sugar consumption can reduce the quality of life in the long term and cause many health problems.

However, keep in mind that not all sugars have the same effect. It is important to note that white refined sugar can seriously affect your health. Yes, it’s the type of sweets sold in grocery stores, which is included in bread, snacks, cookies, cakes, and many other snacks.

The commercial food industry has trained people to love the taste of sugar and even crave it. It is very difficult to completely limit the consumption of dietary types of sweets because they are usually part of the food products that we eat in our daily life.

It is important to know about the dangers of frequent sugar consumption and to understand that it hurts the body, to try to reduce its amount in your diet.

Do you know what happens with our bodies when we stop eating sugar?

The energy level improves

Many people have a habit of drinking sugary soft drinks, energy drinks, and other sugary drinks when they feel they need an energy boost. But studies have shown that excess sweets in the body can cause a dip or crash in energy levels that will disrupt normal activities.

Excessive sweets consumption blocks the body’s ability to maintain energy reserves at the highest level. By minimizing your sugar intake, you’ll notice that these crashes will be a thing of the past.

Eliminate it and your heart will be healthier

Reducing your sugar intake also lowers your risk of heart attack, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, which found numerous heart health risks associated with sugar consumption.

You can protect yourself from cancer

Several studies conducted in different parts of the world have come to the same conclusion that sugar supplies nutrients to cancer cells. Therefore, as a result of reducing sugar consumption, you can also help prevent various types of cancer, as well as stop the spread and metastasis of malignant cells throughout the body.

We protect the liver

Fructose and glucose in excess can lead to increased liver intoxication, similar to what happens when drinking too much alcohol. Experts recommend periodic detoxification of the liver to reduce the risk of liver problems due to sugar consumption.

You will sleep better

Sweets consumption can lead to a drop in energy levels, but at the same time, sleep disturbances are likely. People who drastically reduce their sugar intake quickly notice how much better their sleep is, and some even get rid of insomnia.

Your skin will look younger

Eating a lot of sugar can interfere with the body’s production of elastin and collagen, which are the two main sources of protein for the skin. In the long term, excess sugar can lead to premature aging and other skin diseases.

Your body weight is normalizing

Sweet foods also tend to be high in fat, carbohydrates, and calories and can lead to weight gain. Removing it from the daily diet helps to limit the consumption of these substances, which facilitates the normalization of weight.

Digestion will improve

By reducing your sugar intake, you also give your digestive system a boost to improve its ability to process food. This will help you avoid constipation and other problems related to processes in the large intestine.

You will feel fuller

Various studies have shown that excess sugar consumption causes resistance to leptin, the hormone responsible for sending satiety signals to the brain.

Dental health will improve

Bacteria in the oral cavity have very favorable conditions if you feed them sugar. Eating a lot of sugary foods increases the chances of tooth decay and other dental problems. Reducing sugar intake leads to better teeth and gum health.

It can be found in the description of many diseases. Particular attention is paid to the study of the influence of smoking on the state of the cardiovascular system in smoking men and women of different age groups. And the results were disappointing: a bad habit increases the risk of developing heart and vascular diseases.

The role of smoking in the development of heart disease: endothelial dysfunction

Smoking is a proven risk factor for heart and vascular disease. Many studies confirm the destructive effect of tobacco smoke on the walls of blood vessels.

Tobacco smoke has a direct damaging effect on the cells lining the inner wall of the vessels – endotheliocytes.

Endothelium-dependent vasodilating (vasodilator) effect decreases.

Proliferation (reproduction) of smooth muscle fibers of vascular walls increases.

These changes are called endothelial dysfunction; this condition is “fertile ground” for the development of heart and vascular diseases.

Smoking and Ischemic Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease is the main cause of deaths of young people (men and women) who have a bad habit. Smoking contributes to the development of this disease, causing the following changes in the heart and blood vessels:

The most sensitive to the harmful components of tobacco smoke is the microcirculatory bed – a complex of small-caliber vessels that provide nourishment to the tissues. After smoking a cigarette in young people, a narrowing of venules and arterioles is observed, which is accompanied by a decrease in blood flow to the organ and the development of ischemia. At the same time, the heart muscle receives less oxygen than it normally needs.

After smoking, there is a slowdown in blood flow and the formation of a “sludge-phenomenon” – gluing of red blood cells, which increases the risk of thrombosis.

Tobacco smoking reduces anti-atherosclerotic protection, making the vessels defenseless.

The main process in the development of coronary heart disease is atherosclerosis, today the disease is considered as a “lifestyle disease”, where smoking is considered one of the main risk factors for its development.
Coronary heart disease develops faster if risk factors “overlap” —for example, smoking is associated with diabetes mellitus or hypertension, obesity, etc.

Atherosclerotic heart disease in smokers

Smokers develop atherosclerosis 1.5-6 times more often than non-smokers. Tobacco smoking, along with arterial hypertension and dyslipoproteinemia, increases the risk of atherosclerosis. Studies of blood vessels in smokers, whose death did not come from a cardiovascular pathology, but for some other reason, also shows that they have more pronounced atherosclerosis of vessels than non-smokers.

Nicotine and tobacco smoke damage the inner lining of the blood vessels – endothelium. And atherosclerotic processes develop faster on the damaged endothelium.

The components of cigarette smoke can affect metabolic processes, in particular, cause dyslipidemia, which plays an important role in atherogenesis.
The severity of the disease is directly dependent on the number of cigarettes smoked per day:

When smoking more than a dozen cigarettes a day, patients have a more common vascular lesion – more vessels are involved in the process than in atherosclerotic heart disease in non-smokers. Atherosclerotic aortic aneurysm in smokers develops 8 times more often.

Clinically, the disease occurs with more frequent attacks of angina – angina pain occurs daily, several times.

Tabacco and myocardial infarction

Myocardial infarction, as an acute form of coronary artery disease, is now significantly “younger”. If earlier it was believed that necrosis of the heart muscle develops in individuals after 40 years, today it is recorded in 20-year-olds. And smoking in the development of this disease plays an important role:

After smoking a cigarette, the number of heartbeats increases;

Blood pressure rises;

The need of the heart muscle for oxygen increases;

Smoking contributes to the development of coronary artery spasm. Attacks of ischemia in smokers develop 3 times more often;

Cigarette smoke can affect blood clotting, increasing its viscosity, reducing anticoagulant functions, leading to blood clots.

Especially hard, and often fatal, myocardial infarction occurs in young people. This is due to the fact that bypassing the circulatory system has not yet had time to develop, the site of necrosis captures a large area of myocardium.

Devidence of smoking and the state of the cardiovascular system

With respect to smoking, there is no established safe “dose”. Even when smoking a small number of cigarettes a day (two-three cigarettes), the risk of developing coronary heart disease doubles, and the life expectancy is reduced by about one year.

Quitting smoking reduces the risk of sudden cardiac death — after a year it is reduced by 50%. And after 10 years, it does not differ from that of a person who has never smoked.

Positively, getting rid of a bad habit also affects the state of the vascular wall – the risk of atherosclerosis in “former smokers” decreases and has no differences from that of non-smokers after just a year of quitting tobacco.
Patients who have suffered a myocardial infarction, especially recommended to give up the bad habit. Indeed, even against the background of treatment, the risk of recurrent myocardium in smokers remains very high.
